Detailed description
Diving off the south of Gran Canaria – A package with 2 dives for pros starting in Arguineguín
If you want to go diving while you are on holiday on Gran Canaria and are looking for new horizons underwater, boat dives off the coast of Arguineguín are highly recommended. Diving off the south coast of Gran Canaria offers you some of the best diving spots on the island in the company of a professional guide. An experienced guide will take you by boat to some of the island's most charming dive sites. The starting point for the dives is Anfi del Mar beach in Arguineguín. The renowned diving base is located in a holiday resort right next to the beach. A 7.5 metre long dinghy, which has space for up to 14 passengers and their equipment, will take you to the dive sites. About 30 dive sites with depths between 8 and 35 metres are located in the radius around the base and offer challenging diving around Gran Canaria. The best spots are selected before you leave, based on the preferences and experience of the certified divers.
For example, Arguineguín Reef, which is about 700 metres long and is home to numerous species fish, is located just off the coast. The inhabitants of this reef include things like stingrays and squid, sometimes you might even see angel sharks, trumpet fish and barracudas, which are a majestic sight. Diving on Gran Canaria is an adventure, even for experienced divers. The underwater world of the Canary Islands is enormously rich in fish and contains plenty of scenery that is worth seeing and exciting diving excursions. It is not only the natural reefs that provide this, there are also the artificial ones around the wrecks of boats and aircraft. The wreck of the El Pajar, a sunken Russian ferry that has become home to various sea creatures, is one well-known example. This dive spot, which can only be reached by boat, is also located off the south of Gran Canaria. Right next to this there are the cliffs of Pasito Blanco, which promise an eventful dive to depths of 19 metres off the south of Gran Canaria.
The diving package includes 2 dives, which are completed during this 4-hour dive trip by boat. The first dive is the deepest one. There is then a break and a tank change before you head for the second dive site. This offer includes all of the support you need. Water sports activities such as diving are available all year round on Gran Canaria. Thanks to the warm sea currents you are surrounded by water at a temperature of 18 degrees, even in the winter, so you can relax and enjoy your dive in the Atlantic Ocean.
