The Canary Island of Fuerteventura is particularly appreciated by nature lovers, because its wonderful nature invites for swimming, hiking and other outdoor activities. Discover the countryside while goat trekking and enjoy the absolute peace and quiet far away from the usual tourist routes. The excursion starts in the south of the island near the mountains of El Cardon, a beautiful natural landscape that was sacred to the natives.
The tame goats Nube, Rayo and Torito will accompany you on this Fuerteventura hike through the mountain landscape. As the only migratory goats of the Canary Islands, they have been trained as pack-goats from a very early age and are faithful companions. The goats are affectionate, tame and listen to their name. You will be amazed at the climbing skills and the pleasant nature of the three siblings. They run sometimes free and sometimes on a leash. Surrounded by barren, bizarre, partly desert-like landscapes, the tour guide will take you to a resting place where you can take a break. There a Canarian picnic awaits you in the nature. A good sip of wine is not to be missed, along with a variety of other regional delicacies. The animals stay with us and rest.
Afterwards we walk on through rugged riverbeds until we reach our starting point again. With a fantastic view over the nature reserve of El Cardon you will walk in small groups for about 6 to 8 kilometres. It goes up and down and the ground changes from gravel to fine sand. Sturdy shoes are essential for this hike. The rugged landscape surprises with a wonderful play of colours and soft shapes. The animals are present throughout the entire hike in Fuerteventura and the goats are very tame, affectionate and listen to their name. It will be fun to admire the little goats while climbing and enjoy their gentle nature. At the same time the dear four-legged friends run free and yet are always looking for your closeness, as they are very familiar with people. A true nature experience with mountains and animals!

Special mention must be made of the Canarian picnic, which was delicious and well organised. Sturdy shoes are a must as the terrain is challenging. The goat hike is absolutely recommendable, as you are off the beaten track for a change.The route is easy to manage, not too short, not too long.

Die Ziegenwanderung ist absolut empfehlenswert, da man auch mal abseits der Touristen Gegend unterwegs ist.Die Strecke ist gut zu schaffen, nicht zu kurz, nicht zu lang.
Und das Essen in Form von Tapas war sehr lecker!

We did the goat trekking in a small group, so each pair of two was allowed to look after one goat. The hike took us into the island's hinterland, which was an exciting contrast to the coast. Our guide Annemarie was super lovely and told us a lot about the goats and the island. I would classify the hiking route as rather easy and was easily doable for everyone. Once we reached the top, we enjoyed a delicious picnic with typical local treats. The excursion is absolutely recommended and it is simply fun to be out and about with the goats!Toller Ausflug!
Wir haben das Ziegen Trekking in einer kleinen Gruppe gemacht, sodass jedes Zweier-Paar sich um eine Ziege kümmern durfte. Die Wanderung hat uns ins Hinterland der Insel geführt, was ein spannender Kontrast zur Küste war. Unser Guide Annemarie war super lieb und hat uns einiges über die Ziegen und die Insel erzählt. Die Wanderroute würde ich als eher leicht einstufen und war für alle gut machbar. Oben angekommen durften wir ein leckeres Picknick mit landestypischen Leckereien genießen. Der Ausflug ist absolut zu empfehlen und es macht einfach Spaß, mit den Ziegen unterwegs zu sein!Our customers' questions
