This volcano tour on Gran Canaria introduces us to the breathtaking landscape and rich history of the island. The tour starts with a pick-up in the south of the island in Puerto de Mogán. We then pick up passengers in turn towards Las Palmas, our last pick-up point before we head to our first stop.

The adventure begins on the Pico de Bandama with a panoramic view of the island's varied topography. As we explore the ancient caldera of Bandama, we learn more about its volcanic origins. Our guides bring the geological history of the island to life. Finally, we reach Cruz de Tejeda, where we can visit local markets and buy unique products.

At the Tajinaste restaurant, we enjoy a meal that combines local ingredients with fusion cuisine. We continue with a hike to Roque Nublo (approx. 3.5 km, with a moderate incline of around 200 metres), one of Gran Canaria's most famous natural monuments (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The tour ends on the Pico de Las Nieves, where we can enjoy the sunset.

  • Please bring: Walking shoes or closed sports shoes, a rucksack (avoid plastic and disposable bags), comfortable sportswear, rain jacket and sweatshirt, sun cream, something light to eat (sandwich, fruit or bar), a bottle of water (1.5 litres) and the reservation ticket.
  • Please be ready 15 minutes before the pick-up time at the selected pick-up location. You must give the correct name of your accommodation when booking. Passengers are responsible for being ready and visible for pick-up.
  • Pick-up may be before or after the specified time, up to 20 minutes later, depending on traffic conditions and/or unusual circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to contact you if we are delayed by 20 minutes or less from the scheduled pick-up time.
  • This tour includes a 3.5 km hike to Roque Nublo with a difference in altitude of 200 metres, an average gradient of 16% and a maximum gradient of 60%. Due to the rocky terrain, a good level of fitness is required.
  • There are public toilets at Pico de Bandama, Cruz de Tejeda, Tajinaste Restaurant and Llanos de La Pez. You can buy snacks and souvenirs at Cruz de Tejeda. There are no toilets during the hike.
  • The tour ends with the sunset and the subsequent descent. Enjoy the tasting during the tour, as you will probably not arrive at the hotel until after dinner.

Volcano tour in the middle of Gran Canaria with picnic

You will realize that the island is more than a destination for sun and beach along this guided walking tour in Gran Canaria. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic views and unique landscapes of the island's center during this full-day adventure. Departing from Las Palmas by minivan, we'll seek out the wild side of Gran Canaria with its impressive volcanic craters. We walk in the heart of the island along the rocky cliffs in the Parque Rural de Roque Nublo, explore canyons, volcanic caldera and cliffs and enjoy a picnic with local products on the plains of an ancient volcano.

You can take a sunset walk through the highest area of the island and contemplate the impressive spectacle of the sea of clouds. At the same time we will see the great geological and natural symbols of the island such as Roque Nublo, Roque Bentayga and Tejeda Basin. With the Caldera de Bandama we will explore the volcanic relief of the center of the island - here the wine tradition of the island was founded. The Mirador de Cruz de Tejeda is the geographical center of the island and a unique setting, with panoramic views of the interior and the western side of the island.

During the day tour through the volcanic landscape of Gran Canaria, we will also visit the rural park around Roque Nublo. With the viewpoint at Degollada de la Goleta we start a hike through the pine forests and find our picnic place on one of the highest levels. The tour ends in the highest area of Gran Canaria: at Pico de Las Nieves.
