2,000 species of plants in Palmetum Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The most abundant species in Palmetum is the palm, professionally known as Arecacea or Palmae. There grow more than 400 species of palm trees in Palmetum that are sorted by their geographic occurrence. Many palm trees grow on islands such as Madagascar, the Caribbean and Polynesia, therefore there is a large part of the park dedicated to them. At a size of 12 hectares is the Botanical Garden, the Palmetum in Santa Cruz in Tenerife, the park of Europe showing the largest palm collection.

More than 2,000 plant species from tropical and subtropical climates in the world holds the botanical garden to admire.

A visit to the Palmetum is recommended in the autumn – this is the best time of the year, as the palms carry their colourful fruits. In September and October there are to admire the typical summer vegetables and in November the plant species from cooler regions show their light. It is the beginning of the first rains and the flowers and fruits in the park bloom to great glory.

The fauna wakes up in the autumn and the herons adorn the lakes with their presence. Visit us!

A fantastically beautiful place

The extensive and well-kept park shows what people can create if they want, something great was created from a rubbish tip. A place to enjoy and relax, which also provides a lot of information worth knowing and in addition to this beautiful green oasis, there is probably the most beautiful view of the city and the harbor. Great example should find many imitators

Ein Traumhaft schöner Platz

Der weitläfige und gepflegte Park zeigt was Menschen schaffen können wenn sie wollen,aus einer Müllkippe entstand etwas großartiges. Ein Platz zum Genießen und Entspannen der auch noch viel wissenswertes vermittelt und neben dieser wunderschönen grünen Oase gibt es wohl noch den schönsten Blick auf die Stadt und den Hafen. Klasse das Beispiel sollte viele Nachahmer finden

A highlight of our Tenerife vacation

We were thrilled with this botanical garden. Very nicely planned. You can go for a wonderful walk and have an excellent view of the sea. Also a good opportunity to take beautiful photos. You should plan at least 2 hours. Time is moving very quickly. A lot of beautiful types of palm trees and also a very nice park. Sufficient parking spaces available. The admission price is completely reasonable at 6 euros. Gladly again!

Ein Highlight unseres Teneriffa Urlaubs

Dieser Botanische Garten hat uns völlig begeistert. Sehr schön geplant. Man kann wunderbar spazieren gehen und hat eine hervorragende Aussicht auf das Meer. Auch eine gute Gelegenheit, um schöne Fotos zu machen. Man sollte mindestens 2 Stunden einplanen. Die Zeit geht sehr schnell um. Sehr viele schöne Palmenarten und auch sonst ein sehr schöner Park. Genügend Parkplätze vorhanden. Der Eintrittspreis ist mit 6 Euro völlig angemessen. Gerne wieder!
