The weather decides for you. You will have an enormous view of the beautiful Teide National Park, which is located near Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. Enjoy the 2-3-hour flight over Tenerife.

If you have a GoPro and can safely mount it, you will be able to take wonderful aerial photos. However, you must clarify this on site with the provider. You can do paragliding in several locations on the island. A tour also goes over Adeje and Barranco del Infierno where you get treated to a breath-taking view over the whole west coast of Tenerife as well as Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes. This trip takes about two hours in total.

Paragliding is a super exciting activity; you just have to be brave enough to try it. After the jump, you can relax and make the most of the views over the lush landscape.

Tenerife adventure holidays in and on the water

Since you have decided on a holiday by the sea, you might as well have a stab at some water-sports activities. Speed through the waves on a wicked water buggy and experience an amusing day out at sea. Try the new and exciting Fly-board and move through the water like a dolphin and shoot high into the air with the pressure of the water and do daring tricks in the air. 100% adrenaline is guaranteed. An absolute must for every action lover.

Jet-skiing is a crowd favourite and an action-packed activity from top to bottom. In some places, you can do this without a driving licence. You get taken by boat to a specially closed area where you can put your driving skills to the test. Speed over the waves with the small sport boats and feel the water flow all around you.

If you are interested in the underwater world of Tenerife, then explore it by going snorkelling or diving into the depths of the sea. On the island, there are several diving courses for beginners and advanced divers.

Horse-riding in Tenerife

Horse-riding in Tenerife is a truly magical way to get to know the island. It sounds a bit cliché but it's every girl's dream to go riding on the sand. Make your daughter or girlfriend's dreams come true in Tenerife by booking a horse-ride for them. The ride takes you over hills, through fields and forests and of course along a beautiful beach. If you do the ride in the evening, you will more than likely delight in a ride into the sunset.

Adventure on holiday in Tenerife on two or four wheels

The Teide National Park is the highlight of the trip. In the UNESCO-certified nature reserve you will spend about an hour driving through the huge park admiring the most diverse rocks, plants and volcanoes. Afterwards, the route leads you to the "Cuevas de Samara" caves. These caves were originally volcanic channels formed after the eruption of Pico Viejo. In Arguayo, you have enough time to find a nice place for a spot of lunch. After lunch, the tour continues to Masca, a beautiful little mountain village. There you will also have time for coffee or a stroll around town. Drive back to Playa de las Américas to finish things off.

Explore Tenerife on a mountain bike. The advantage of a bike trip is that you stay fit during your holiday and get to know the island better at the same time. Rent a mountain bike and explore the island on your own or take part in guided mountain bike tours and discover beautiful natural beaches and daring downhill trails.

A quad or buggy tour is also an exciting way to get to know the island better. Experience a unique driving experience. With the manoeuvrable speedsters it is fun to climb mountains or to race around the corners. Off-roading is a must on these tours, so you get the chance to see what the magnificent machines are really made of. Anyone mad about cars should have this in mind.

The VIP island tour "Anaga" starts with the four-wheel-drive large-capacity sedans in the south of Tenerife. Your first stop will be in San Cristobal de La Laguna. The city is visited on foot. Don't forget your camera, you'll find photo opportunities on practically every corner.

The tour continues through the Mercedes forest to Anaga Nature Park. From there you have a fantastic view of the beautiful landscape. The Anaga mountain range originated many millions of years ago and is probably one of the oldest areas on the island!

Let yourself be enchanted by the varied view of the Anaga Nature Park. Stop for a bite at the village of Taganana.  You get a magnificent view over the coast of Alamáciga and Benijos from there. After lunch, which is included in the price, the tour continues via El Bailadero to the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Santa Cruz is a traditional yet modern city with many beautiful buildings and monuments to feast your eyes on.

The tour goes back to Playa de las Américas via Candelaria. The tour also starts in Puerto de la Cruz.

Tenerife Outdoor Adventure Holiday Fun

In Tenerife you can do almost any outdoor activity imaginable. How about a climbing tour, for example? Climb a steep rock face and when you reach the top breathe in the fantastic view of the mountains and valleys. A somewhat more extreme form of climbing is coasteering. Here you climb up cliffs and have to keep your wits about you with the waves that appear to bounce off the cliffs. Once you have reached the top, you can jump into the ocean. This is an absolute thrill for adrenaline junkies.

If you don't want so much action and heights are not your bag, a hike in Tenerife could be on the cards. When hiking you have the advantage to discover even the smallest details of the island. You also get to places where you would never have reached otherwise. Some bays, for instance, are just not accessible by car. Pack a towel and plenty of water and take advantage of the terrific nature in Tenerife on a hike.
