Dominikaner Kloster Teneriffa

Kloster Teneriffa
The numerous monasteries and churches in Tenerife are popular destinations for excursions

One of the most unique and famous estates among Tenerife's monasteries is the Meson el Monasterio in Los Realejos. On the former monastery grounds there is now a park with an adjacent bowling hill and four restaurants. After a walk to the Way of the Cross and through the zoo, you can enjoy authentic Canarian dishes and views of the valley from the terraces of the restaurants.

The Basilica is a sanctuary built around the patron saint of the Canary Islands, the "black Madonna". The church, which is located directly on the sea and the Plaza de la Patrona de Canaria, has welcomed many faithful for hundreds of years, who come to the sculpture of the Virgin of Candelaria to pray.

As there are many Germans who emigrated to Tenerife, there is also a fairly large Protestant congregation on the Canary Island. It comprises the 20,000 German-speaking residents of the islands of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro. Besides Playa de Las Américas, Puerto de la Cruz is also a central place.

Every Sunday at 05:00 p.m. the Anglican Church in Puerto de la Cruz invites to an evangelical church service. Austrian, Swiss, Dutch and Spanish people also attend the services and events.
