The special thing abaout Garachico?

This once very important town was almost completely covered by lava at the beginning of the 18th century during an eruption of the Montaña de Trevejo volcano. But even though Garachico has been rebuilt, the traces of the volcanic eruption can still be traced in the town. The best place to see it is on the coast, where you can still see the lava flows that have been poured into the sea. The town is very busy, especially at weekends, as locals also like to come to the quietly situated Garachico - preferably for a swim in the lava-formed sea pool on the coast.
