Tenerife: Jeep Safari from Puerto de la Cruz to La Gomera – the best way to explore the island

The Tenerife jeep safari to the smaller, neighbouring island of La Gomera starts from Puerto de la Cruz, where you will join the other members of the tour group to travel to the harbour at Los Cristianos. Here the 4x4 jeeps will be loaded onto the ferry for the crossing to San Sebastian de La Gomera. This famous capital city is where Christopher Columbus once embarked on his voyage of discovery to America. You will set off from San Sebastián in a convoy of 4x4 jeeps and head inland from La Gomera and take the San Pedro road towards Hermigua, where you will visit a banana plantation and also discover the secrets of this unique region, which is typical of La Gomera.

We will then continue to Playa Caleta and Agulo, where you will enjoy a pleasant lunch with typical local products in a good restaurant ("Las Rosas" on Mondays and Wednesdays, "Roque Blanco" on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). After lunch, our route takes us to the visitor's centre of the Garajonay National Park, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

From here you will drive through the national park and pass "Juego de Bolas", where you will stop at the impressive Agulo viewpoint. You can expect to see some fantastic panoramas here. Don’t forget your camera! The jeep safari from Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, to the island of La Gomera then continues to the “Laguna Grande” and the natural landmark of Los Roques. This is where you can admire the famous “Roque Agando” mountain and the fabulous view across the park. Once you get back to San Sebastián, you will find out about the Torre del Conde, which dates from the fifteenth century and is one of the most important monuments on the island. We will then head back to the ferry. The jeep safari will finish when we get back to Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife.
