Detailed description

Tenerife day trip: Hiking in the Barranco del Infierno (Hell's Gorge) + sightseeing & delicious food in Adeje

A perfect combination for active holidaymakers on Tenerife: this day trip around Adeje takes you first on a walk through the Barranco del Infierno Nature Park, then on a panoramic tour past the historic sites of Adeje and finally into one of the best cuisines in town, which you can find for the famous Pollo Adeje. For the approximately 7-hour trip you don't need much more than your hiking backpack and enough water. You will be picked up from your hotel / accommodation in the morning and drive directly to the southwest of the island. The nature park borders on the municipality of Adeje, the access to the famous  Hell's Gorge is not far from the town.

Contrary to what the name  Hell's Gorge might suggest, the species-rich nature reserve seems like a paradise. Lush, green landscapes, rugged rock formations and other gorges. The hiking route through the Barranco del Infierno Park measures about 6.5 kilometres and will take about 3 hours, including small breaks, which we plan to take for photos and to be amazed. We recommend walking poles for this tour and sure-footedness. We will enjoy the hike from Adeje in the Barranco del Infierno in a small group - anyway the access to the famous gorge is limited to a maximum of 300 people per day. This is to protect this wonderful nature reserve. One element that has shaped the gorge and the nature park like no other is water. Over thousands of years it has shaped its way through this area and today it gives visitors impressive landscapes.

After this excursion into the lush nature of Tenerife, we will enjoy the historical ambience of Adeje and take a panoramic tour of the city to see some of its important monuments. These include in particular the cultural and historical monuments such as the convent of Señora Guadalupe and the church of Santa Ursula. Also the Casa Fuerte is an impressive building with a long history (built in 1555). The end of this Adeje day tour is a Canarian meal in one of the best kitchens in town. Here the famous Pollo Adeje is prepared and served from fresh ingredients. The food and drinks are included in the price.
